Systematic errors in GPC/SEC/GFC
GPC/SEC results and their validity are crucial in many applications, e.g. as part of QC/QA tests in pharmaceutical applications such as antithrombotic heparin, dextran or hydroxyethyl starch in emergency care. Equally important are the registration of polymeric products or formulations with regulatory agencies like FDA, ECHA and many more, to ensure non-toxicity and save and environmentally friendly product use. Obviously in such a context, the accuracy and precision of GPC/SEC results are an important issue.
The accuracy of a measurement describes how close the measured result is to the true value. Accuracy is influenced by systematic errors, which are difficult to detect even for experienced scientists.
